Please note these mugs do not come with lids.

These large Purion mugs were made in 2020. They are beautifully crafted and a nice upgrade over a standard porcelain mug for sure. They weigh in at 410g and hold approximately 450ml to the very top of the mug (I don't recommend filling them quite that high!). Lin's suggests these mugs for a variety of teas and indicates these mugs will soften the tea liquor, and in this case, I find their claim to be completely accurate.

I tested this mug with ripe liubao, young sheng maocha and some Dayi ripe and all three were smoother and less astringent and bitter in the mug. I wouldn't use a mug for the fanciest teas, but for casual daily drinking, this mug really excels. You could also stack infusions of higher grade tea from a teapot or up the ratio for more complexity, of course.

This mug performed best of all with some aged high roast blended dahongpao (not on the site) and made the tea much more complex and smooth while accentuating the lovely aged flavors. This was the best session I'd ever had with this tea and this mug allowed the tea to truly shine in a way I didn't expect at all.
