Description

These Dayi sheng pu erh tea bags are surprisingly good! I was asked to get these by a customer and I was very surprised by the quality of the brew when I tried them. The tea still has some of the bitterness and a little of the smoke that you'd associate with a younger raw, but also the body, color and smoothness that come with age. The aging process was very carefully controlled and there are no humid notes to the liquor whatsoever. These bags provide a good, consistent brew from the biggest name in pu erh today! These are ideal for travel or for brewing in office situations, or when you simply don't have time or space for a full session! The flavor of the tea most closely reminds me of an aged 7542, which is high praise indeed for a teabag (but these are premium Dayi teabags, after all)!


Brewing suggestion: 90-100 degrees Celsius, depending on your taste and tolerance for astringency and bitterness. Use water of low hardness (15-35 ppm/L) with a magnesium level of 1-3 ppm/L. Ideal brewing time will depend on temperature and individual taste.
