Description

These top quality Yellow Mountain Tribute-grade chrysanthemum flowers are grown in Shandong Province. These flowers meet organic standards set by the USDA, EU and China, and the plantation has been certified organic by EcoCert as well! These chrysanthemum flowers make an excellent choice for those who prefer to go organic for their health and the environment!

The dry flowers smell like classic chrysanthemum and the tea brews up nice and smooth with classic chrysanthemum flavor, with none of the unpleasantness or harshness you would find with lower grade flowers. These are the cleanest chrysanthemum flowers I have ever come across!

These flowers have been (and are currently) stored in glass jars for maximum longevity. Chrysanthemum tea (really a tisane) is very popular throughout China, and here in Hong Kong, is especially popular in the summer months. Chrysanthemum tea is sold chilled and sweetened throughout the city in ready-to-drink packs and bottles, and it is also consumed with meals.

Chrysanthemum is believed to be cooling in Traditional Chinese Medicine, so it is a popular choice when eating grilled meats as well, since chrysanthemum tea is believed to offset the negative side effects from grilled foods. I definitely felt a cooling sensation in my tummy after drinking a brew of these flowers: I had a meal of spicy yak meat from Tibet and these were just the ticket for cooling me down after! These flowers have been cultivated, harvested, dried and stored in the best possible conditions! These flowers are so clean that I was happy to chew on the delicate petals that ended up in my mouth when drinking this tea!

Chrysanthemum flowers are also often added to ripe pu erh at Cantonese restaurants. You can read more about chrysanthemum tea here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrysanthemum_tea

Brewing instructions: Brew 3-5 flowers in a cup with water of appropriate hardness (temperature: 100 Celsius / 212 Fahrenheit) for 3-5 minutes. These flowers can be brewed several times.
