Description

I bought one of these sets for my recent trip to Europe, and in combination with a 1.5L thermally-insulated pitcher, two Yixing teapots, a portable ABS plastic teapot stand and a glass fair cup (and good tea, of course!), I was able to have impromptu tea sessions at my AirBnB apartment and even at a cafe in Rotterdam!

ABS plastic is both tough and heat resistant, making it an excellent choice for this gongfu cha set. ABS is also lightweight, making the tray easily portable. The set comes in a padded case and holds a porcelain teapot and six gongfu cha-sized tea cups. The 120ml porcelain teapot is a great shape for all teas and you can brew any tea in it. This set has made it possible to drink great tea anywhere, and I will definitely be taking it on all of my future travels!

The ABS tea tray is 21cm (8 1/4") in diameter, and 5 cm high (just under 2"). You could use this as your everyday set and it would work great, and you would always have the ability to take it on the road if needed. This makes it the ideal set for the minimalists out there!

The case is lightly padded to protect the tray and the teapot and cups within, but you might want to add more bubble wrap inside the tray to protect the teaware, and even some around the padded case for added protection. I didn't add any bubble wrap to the exterior of the set and it was just fine in my (very heavy!) suitcase. I chose to keep the plastic wrap over the porcelain cups and teapot to prevent movement during travel, and then added a layer of bubble wrap over this (inside the case) before zipping up the case.
