Description

This beautiful little shuiping is older than many of us, and hopefully will outlast us all! This teapot was made in the mid-to-late 1960s from excellent quality Huanglongshan hongni, and the clay in the late 60s was as good as the early 60s. I procured this teapot in lightly used condition many years ago, and cleaned it and reset it for use.

Teapot aficionados are very fond of these pots for the quality of the clay used and the delicate construction of the time, as well as their historical significance. They also make really good tea! This is excellent, pure clay and ideal for the gongfucha aficionado who wants a pot for their high ratio tieguanyin or yancha sessions. This size pot is just right for two when using classic gongfucha cups of 15-25ml capacity (to the rim). The pot has a respectable 13-second pour time.

Please note there is some minor damage to the bottom rim and also either damage or staining on the stamp. The pot is otherwise perfect, completely usable for tea and I have used it a few times for oolong sessions. Using pots from this period is a real pleasure and in today's market, this teapot can be considered an investment (that you can use for tea)!
