These tiny little teapots were a surprise find, and have been sitting in warehouses for at least 23 years! They were originally purchased by a dealer in 1993, so these teapots were made in 1993 or earlier. These teapots usually have better lid fit than my Factory 1 teapots in the 40-45ml range and are even smaller than those teapots! Nowadays, very few makers are capable of making tiny teapots of this quality because of the sheer skill and dexterity involved. When new, I believe these pots were sold at a slight premium because they took so much care to craft. 

Interestingly, I own 65 and 85ml pots from the same factory and period, and these 30ml pots are better made! I think these were made by more experienced and skilled craftspeople since not everyone can make a good teapot this tiny.

These teapots are made with genuine mixed zini clay from Yixing mines, and make absolutely outstanding tea. While I feel these teapots are best for medium-to-high-fire Wuyicha (shuixian, dahongpao, etc) of the type I offer here at TeaLife, these pots would also work well with pu erh, although since they are medium-high fired, I'd stick with dry storage pu erh. I prefer lower-fired, thicker-walled and sandier clay for traditional storage pu erh, since that type of clay is great at reducing storage aromas if they are present. 

Please note: these pots cool off quite quickly because of their size. I do not suggest using these pots when the ambient temperature is cool as the teapots will cool off significantly faster, which will affect your infusions. This faster cooling is desirable with more delicate teas as they are less likely to 'stew' than in larger pots. In tradiitonal Chaozhou gongfucha, pots are even dipped in cool water between infusions! You won't need to do that with these pots because of their thermal properties.

These teapots don't dribble, and the flow can be stopped with the airhole in the lid. You get a six-second pour, which is nice and fast and perfect for gongfucha with oolong. These are obviously one-person, one-cup pots, unless you stack infusions, and make tea just as good as any of my oolong pots (and in my opinion, these small pots brew better-tasting tea)!

I'm keeping at least two of these for myself--one for use at home, and one for use at work. I have fifty of these pots. I do most of my serious drinking alone, and for appraising high fire strip oolongs, these little teapots are hard to beat!

Some of these pots have single-hole spouts and some are of four-hole-filter construction. If you have a preference, let me know and I will send you the type of pot you're after. Most of the pots are of the four-hole-filter type.

These pots are very well fired and do not have residual clay aromas.

There is sometimes residual silica or clay dust and flakes in the pots, as is often the case with Yixing pots, so please clean these teapots before use. If well cared for, these pots will last forever!
