This is a fresh maocha I received about a week ago. This material is supposedly from older plantation trees that haven't been fertilized or sprayed recently, but I cannot prove or disprove this claim. This is a clean tea with surprisingly powerful cha qi and a pleasant and long lasting kuwei (sweetness following bitterness). This really isn't bitter tea at all, however, and it is not at all astringent. Mengku Daxueshan material is often light and pleasant without significant astringency or bitterness, and the flavor is often light as well, so this is a great choice for those who want something easy to drink that they don't have to think about too much. The dry leaf has a light fruity scent and a long steep brings out some light apricot notes, but this is not a very aromatic tea in the cup. This is, however, a comfortable and calming hand processed maocha for casual drinking, and it is very economical!

I only have five packs in total available at this time.
