This lovely 2020 large tree maocha is from Jingmai: I bought some excellent Jingmai maocha in Kunming several years ago, and this maocha compares favorably, although with a sweeter overall profile, which I find quite interesting. At my warehouse, I got an intense candy fruit aroma from this material that reminded me of some kind of fruit candy I consumed in my childhood. The aroma was subdued 24 hours later, and smelled more like fresh watermelon. The tea was very aromatic and flavorful once water hit it!

The aroma is fruity and floral and intense. I get some of the same exact character from this material as the Jingmai I purchased in Kunming years ago, but with more sweet top notes and the characteristic floral note is sweeter in this material as well. There is also a lovely light fresh milk note on the nose and on the liquor that I really like (and I know a lot of you will too)!

This is a pleasant, smooth, easy-to-drink maocha with very light astringency and bitterness. I didn't notice either until I was asked about them while drinking this tea! There i  light and pleasant ku wei here. There is a fresh mint note, probably from the chlorophyll left in the leaves. The characteristic Jingmai taste is a certain wildflower character with fruit in the mix, and that's exactly what I get here, but in a more pleasant, sweet and fruity way than the Jingmai maocha I previously carried.

There is also pleasant energizing, almost hallucinogenic cha qi here. This tea isn't a sleepy cha qi bomb for me, but it is certainly very flavorful and lovely to drink! I'm certainly very happy with this tea, and it's perhaps my favorite maocha of the year so far.
