Description

These 2015 V93s have been stored 37 floors about sea level here in Hong Kong since February 2016! In the two years and two months since they arrived here, they have aged wonderfully. The last time I tried some, the sheng in the recipe hadn't aged enough and it was a little too strong for me and with a bitter edge. Now the sheng has mellowed nicely and the tea is pleasantly bitter with lovely aged character!

The dry tuo smells sweet and has aged notes commensurate with my home dry storage. In the cup, I get aged flavor along with dominant notes of cherries and date. There is a black tea note present here. Interestingly this tea is much more dynamic from infusion to infusion than the 2010 V93s I carry here at TeaLife, because the storage has seen natural swings and I haven't controlled the humidity with dehumidifers, as is common in Guangdong. There are no humid storage notes to this tea or visible mold. This tea is smooth, thick and pleasant, and has lovely cha qi. In some ways, these tuos feel more aged than the 2010 V93s I carry! Trying these tuos side by side would be very interesting (and educational) for the ripe pu erh aficionado!

I only have nine of these tuos for sale, so if you'd like one, now is your chance to get one! I expect these to move fast!
