These raw pu erh bricks were produced with material that was certified organic (to Chinese standards) and pressed by a major pu erh manufacturer many of you would be familiar with. The exact origin of the material wasn't revealed, but this manufacturer is best known for working with Menghai material for their sheng bricks. I'm offering this as a loose offering (a very traditional Hong Kong way to sell pu erh) at a very nice price point. This is a great deal for the quality of the material here and for the excellent storage these bricks went through over twelve years.

The liquor is smooth, clean and tasty with pleasant agarwood notes and chenpi (aged orange peel) and date in the aftertaste, as well as just enough astringency, bitterness and huigan to make this interesting to drink. You could definitely spend a lot more money for a less enjoyable drinking experience! I immediately bought a large portion of my supplier's inventory after trying this tea as I feel this is a great tea (and not just for the money) which has been beautifully stored to where it is today. Even when pushed hard (or overbrewed), this material is at the point where it never gets too astringent or bitter.

I only have 3.8 kg of this tea on offer at this time, so if you're looking for a daily drinker aged sheng that hits well above its price point, this tea is truly hard to beat!
