These 2007 7581 bricks (just the two) have been stored at my warehouse here in Hong Kong since March 2016. The bricks were purchased directly from a high volume licensed Zhongcha dealer in Kunming (not a Western-facing one!) and have aged beautifully since I've had them. Dry storage 7581 made me fall in love with shu pu erh all over again back in 2015, so I originally bought a variety of 7581 bricks for my own consumption. I only have two of these bricks as they were purchased months before I started TeaLife HK, and these bricks were earmarked for my own consumption down the line. I've since acquired so much 7581 that I can bear to part with these!
These bricks have a light aroma when dry, but lots of aroma and flavor presents itself when the hot water hits the leaf! The liquor is lovely and smooth, and is all jujube with a little plum in the finish. There is no camphor at all here, so if you like sweetly aromatic 7581, these bricks are exactly what you're looking for! There is absolutely no fermentation or storage aroma in this tea: my storage is dialed in nicely, and my bricks and cakes are really aging the way I want them to!
