Up until Autumn 2018, this family only sold a traditional storage version of these cakes: the traditional storage version is now all gone. What I didn't know at the time was that the family had also put a lot of 7542 into dry storage, a first for the family!

Their dry storage is what HK dry storage should be: accelerated aging without leaving the tea with nothing but the taste of storage. Classic 7542 character is what you get in the cup. Some Hong Kong storage is excessively humid, but not with this tea! These cakes are either sold wrapped in plastic or in the original wrapper, and both versions still have the CNNP nei fei. This is great old school 7542 and mild and pleasant enough after aging that I could drink it every day. The bitterness has aged down to almost nothing, and the tea still tastes like wildflowers to me, like good sheng pu erh should.

Picture 1: dry leaf.
Picture 2: after two rinses (recommended).
Picture 3: first infusion.
Picture 4: Taken after about a dozen infusions over two days. 7542 has excellent longevity.

Please note: most traditional Hong Kong tea merchants do not offer discounts on volume until I am purchasing several kilograms at a time, and in some cases, no discounts are offered at all, even for ten kilos of a single tea or more.
