These eggshell-thin Chaozhou cups are made specifically for Chaozhou gongfucha. Each cup holds approximately 30ml of tea. The cups are individually handpainted. The decoration isn't perfect; the red characters and the outlines of the floral design are transferred on and the transfers aren't always evenly applied, and sometimes there are tiny flecks of paint inside the cups, but their imperfections definitely lend them character. They are very pretty little cups and perfect for serious gongfucha sessions. A few have an extra stroke or two of excess red/brown paint on the outside that needs to be washed off before use, but once cleaned up with soap and water, they are perfectly serviceable and a real experience to drink out of. I haven't encountered modern production cups made of porcelain anywhere near this thin, so these are definitely special. The cups are also so white they're almost blue. Modern Chaozhou porcelain has a much warmer color due to higher iron content in the porcelain used today.
