I've long wanted one of these traditionally fired gaiwans: they have a light layer of ash that gives them an ash-gray glaze that I find very attractive. I've only recently realized these are now made in Fujian, as well, and at a much better pricepoint than the Jingdezhen-made ones. This is a beautifully crafted gaiwan that is nice and tall, and thin enough so you won't cook more delicate teas. It is nice and light at 126g because of the thin walls!

These gaiwans have gotten a lot of attention from those who have had a sneak peak at them. I know a lot of you will find the shape, and traditional glaze, very attractive. One of the pictures above shows you how warm and gray the glaze is compared to modern Chaozhou porcelain.
