After testing one of these new 2018/2019 100ml pots, I realize the new pot performs a lot more like Lin's says Purion should act. I don't know why my 2015 pot brings out more aroma, roast and storage notes than any other pot I own, but it could be due to a difference in clay or firing. I suggest these new pots for roasty oolongs and aged heicha or pu erh. If you'd like to purchase the specific 2018 pot I tested, please leave me a note at checkout!

These 100ml teapots are from Lin's Ceramic Studio in Taiwan. Lin's Ceramic products are very popular with tea aficionados. I never understood the appeal of Purion clay back when I only used vintage Yixing clay. Then I chanced upon a used Purion pot a few years ago and was amazed by the performance!

While these pots are recommended for roasted oolongs and aged pu erh, I find my specific 2015 Purion pot to be the best clay I have ever used for greener oolongs, young sheng pu erh and the finest hong cha. The clay preserves aroma better than any of my hongni pots, including my $1,000+ 1960s Factory 1 hongni pots! I have Chaozhou, Jianshui pots, Nixing and Sichuan Rongchang teapots in my collection, as well as the Yixing pots I use most often, and Purion clay surpasses all of them for the most aromatic teas! Purion clay is a proprietary blend that supposedly contributes certain minerals to tea liquor, enhancing the tea experience.

These pots have a 13 second pour and the airhole in the lid will stop the pour as needed. The pots have four-hole filters, which prevent clogged spouts without impeding the speed of the flow, since the holes are larger than on most Yixing pots.

These pots aren't available for purchase anywhere else online right now, and I am so surprised and pleased with Purion's performance that I had to get some in!

Please note that purchasing one of these pots on its own qualifies you for free worldwide shipping! Each pot will be shipped in the original packaging from Lin's and carefully packed for protection during shipping.
