This beautifully made 100ml teapot is from Jingdezhen, the historic porcelain capital of China. This teapot was designed specifically for gongfu cha, and the half-moon style of the pot replicates a classic Yixing teapot design. The teapot has a fast 10-11 second pour, which makes it ideal for brewing oolongs and Chinese red/black tea in, as well as for brewing pu erh that won't benefit from muting. While thin walled, the teapot should have considerably better heat retention than a gaiwan and there is much less risk of burning yourself than with a gaiwan. The seven-hole filter keeps your leaves in the pot and prevents the spout from clogging, while allowing for a rapid pour, which is very important for serious gongfu cha.
